Art and Design Technology
Art plays an important part in the life of the school. The
children’s enthusiasm for the subject is enhanced by visits to
galleries and by the professional artists and craftsmen invited
into school to lead workshops and demonstrations.
Children in the upper phase receive specialist tuition,
developing their skills in drawing, painting, printing, sculpture
and textiles. The children become familiar with the work of
renowned artists, developing an appreciation of the various styles
of work and the historical and social setting in which they were
created.
Individual and group art projects allow children the opportunity
to express themselves through a variety of media, learn
new skills and display their creativity.
Design and Technology
Design and technology are covered across the entire creative
curriculum, as children build and explore ideas through their own
models and designs.
