"We did not know what to expect, as we have never played Ashton House before. This was not the only change, for we were playing a team on an astro turf pitch for the first time. Personally I prefer grass!

The two Year 6 teams were evenly matched. It was a fast paced game, as there were no throw-ins or corners. First to score were Ashton House, but we stepped up our game and scored 2 goals. After a few minutes they scored once, but we scored another, only for Ashton House to equal the score to 3-3 at Half time!

We had 2 brilliant goalkeepers-Sam Pilgrim and Ricky Yuksel, especially noteworthy is the brilliant save Ricky made in the second half, as he not only stopped the ball, but also simultaneously managed to do the splits! Our 2 goal scorers were Ross Mackinnon who scored 2 goals, one that just chipped over their goal keeper’s head and Dominic Rosevear, who scored 3 goals! The final score was 7-5 to Ashton House

The Year 5 team played very well. It was a  good team effort with excellent goalkeeping from

Matthew Robertson and goal scoring by Thomas Hollands, who scored all 6 goals! The Year 5 team had a very successful match as they won 6-2. Danesfield won on aggregate points 11-9.

We are looking forward to playing them again, and hopefully we will win both of our matches."

Swimming

Swimming gala

We held an Inter-House Swimming Gala where 4 children from each year represented their house colours. I must point out how smart the children looked in their new house polo shirts. We had Lower Phase swimming in the first part of the Gala and what a tight race we had there, with poor Louis McDonald being bumped into. He had to take 2nd place- bless him! All the children were kicking their little legs like their lives depended on it! What a fantastic performance it was! Only 1 point in it and the winner wears Green. So congratulations to all of our participants.

Upper Phase were up next. As we all know we have to include ‘swimming rules’, so there were a few points taken off here and there, but it also gave then the opportunity to show off their fabulous swimming skills. Like Isabella Coro including her tumble turn making her the winner of her race! The winning colour of the Upper Phase was Green. Making the overall winners Green.

Congratulations to all of the participants!
