Danesfield Manor School is a non-selective mixed nursery and school for children aged 2 to 11 years old. We specialise in preparing children for entrance exams to Senior Independent Schools and local State Schools.

Admissions for entry in September 2017

Nursery Admissions

Children are admitted to the Nursery throughout the year after they turn 2 and Pre-School the term after they turn 3.  The nursery / Pre-School are available on a session basis.  Minimum requirement for Nursery is 3 core sessions and Pre-School 5 core sessions.  The session available are 9am to 11:30am or 12:30pm to 3:00pm / 12:30pm to 3:30pm (EYFE) Monday to Friday. Sessions outside these times are available from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday on an Extended Year basis or Traditional Year basis.  Please view our Nursery Fee’s for more information.


Children are admitted into Reception in the September after their fourth birthday as full-time pupils.  20 places are available each year.  Observations take place prior to entry the following criteria are used:

Category 1: Children already attending Danesfield Pre-School are given priority for 16 Reception places.

Category 2: Children with a sibling at Danesfield Manor School.

Families will be given one week to accept the offer and return the Acceptance Agreement together with the Deposit Fee.  If places are not accepted, we will move down the list of registrations and offer the place to parents whose children are not attending Pre-School.

Early Years Free Entitlement (EYFE)  *(applicable to Pre-School only for up to 36 weeks ((Term Time)):

Early Years Free Entitlement is available to all children from the term after their third birthday until they reach statutory school age (the term after they are five).  However, a child is no longer eligible for Early Year Free Entitlement, if they attend a maintained nursery before statutory school age as funding cannot be claimed from both the maintained sectors.  If eligible for Early Years Free Entitlement your child is entitled to six free sessions of 2.5 hours (16 hours a week) or five afternoon free sessions of 3 hours (15 hours a week) for upto 36 weeks.  Term dates are published on our website.

Years 1 - 6 Admissions

Places may be available in other year groups and parents are advised to contact the school to ascertain the situation.  The children are invited to spend the day with a class within their current year group.  Pleaces are offered in Years 1 to 6 on a date of registration basis, using the same priorities as above.

We are a non-selective school, however, each child must attend an informal visit day before an offer of a place is sent to the parents.
