We consider fostering relationships within the community a vital component of our ethos. We welcome opportunities where we can contribute to the enrichment of the environment and relationships around us.
Every year the school council adopts a charity and organises sponsored activities in support of its chosen charity. Last year we raised fabulous £1135.48 which were donated to the Shooting Star Chase. The previous year we raised £300 which was donated to the Uganda Trust and we were able to support MacMillan Cancer with an outstanding contribution of £500 through the sale of cakes and fruit. We also support local, national and international causes such ‘Walton Food Bank’, ‘Water Aid’, ‘Poppy Appeal’ and ‘Children in Need’.
Throughout the Christmas season, our Lower and Upper Phase choirs have packed itineraries! We invite neighbouring residents and a group of senior citizens to come along for a performance of our Christmas Productions and to enjoy coffee and home baked mince pies. In addition to these performances, over the last few years, they have performed for the ‘Walton Stroke Group’, ‘Clare House’ home for the elderly and were specially requested by the committee to perform at the ‘Walton Festival of Lights’ for 3 consecutive years! This year they will also be singing carols and Christmas songs at ‘Fenner House’.
The pupils and staff look forward to mufti days when they get to wear their own clothes whilst supporting a charitable cause.
