Parental Involvement

We are proud of the family atmosphere at our school and we welcome parents as a valuable part of that family.

Each class has its own parent representative who ensures that the lines of communication between school and home are kept open. Parent representatives welcome new families into the school, involving them in the full life of the school. Many parents also help with reading or swimming and with social events for parents and families.

We report to parents on children’s progress in a formal report sent home termly, but we also hold regular planned and ad hoc parents’ meetings to maintain a continuous dialogue between home and school.

There is an active parent association which runs social activities for parents, staff and children at the school. The DPA raises funds to buy items that will promote extracurricular activities and children’s social development. This year the DPA is raising money to buy playground equipment for children between ages 5 and 11.

The DPA runs a drop-off zone every morning from 8am to ease traffic congestion and ensure that the children are escorted safely onto the premises. Parents volunteer their assistance in this service in association with staff at the school.
